The panel on "Federations in Turkey and Contemporary Approaches in Training Science" organized by the Faculty of Sports Sciences attracted great interest.
The panel was moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Önder Şekeroğlu and coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atike Yılmaz, advisor to the Rector. Prof. Dr. Tekin Çolakoğlu, President of the Orienteering Federation, and Prof. Dr. Serdar Eler, Dean of Gazi University Faculty of Sports Sciences, attended the event held in Hall A of 1071 Malazgirt Congress and Culture Center as speakers.
One of the issues that stood out as an important agenda item in the panel was the sad issue of violence in the sports world in recent days. In the opinions expressed in the panel, it was emphasized that sports is a competitive environment and the importance of the spirit of fair-play was emphasized. While it was stated that sports should encourage unity and solidarity among its fans, it was underlined that violence is against the spirit of sports.
