An event titled "The Future of Basketball and Sports Psychology from the Past to the Future in the 100th Anniversary of the Republic" was organized in our faculty.
Coordinated by Rector Advisor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atike Yılmaz and Moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Önder Şekeroğlu, the event organized by the Department of Exercise and Sports Sciences for Disabled People within the Faculty of Sports Sciences took place at 1071 Malazgirt Congress and Culture Center.
In the event where Necati Güler, the doyen of basketball, and Prof. Dr. Turhan Toros, Head of Coaching Education, Sports Psychology Consultant, Mersin University Faculty of Sports Sciences, were the speakers, Güler told the guests about the historical development process of Turkish basketball, while Prof. Dr. Toros talked about the importance of sports psychology in raising successful athletes and what can be done. In addition to our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yaşar Karadağ, Rector Advisor Assoc. Dr. Mehmet Özalper, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences Prof. Dr. Alper Karadağ, Faculty of Sports Sciences professors, faculty management, faculty students, Varto Vocational School Sports Management Department students, Young Fenerbahce Community of our University, Muş Cedi Osman Academy Basketball Club athletes attended the two-hour event.
