At the UNILIG Yeşilay Wrestling Turkey Championship, hosted by Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University between 28 March and 1 April 2026, the Muş Alparslan University Wrestling Team achieved significant successes.
Under the guidance of Coach and Research Assistant Dr Buğrahan Cesur, our team competed in the championship with a total of seven athletes across the Freestyle, Greco-Roman and Women’s categories, and concluded the event with four medals following successful performances in three different categories.
Our Medallists:
İsmail Culfa – 72 kg Greco-Roman Style Turkish Champion (Gold Medal)
Caner Demirtaş – 92 kg Freestyle Turkish 3rd Place (Bronze Medal)
Orçun Akduman – 67 kg Greco-Roman Style Turkish 3rd Place (Bronze Medal)
Samet Tekdemir – 3rd in the 97 kg Greco-Roman Style Turkish Championships (Bronze Medal)
Additionally, Mihriban Sayıcı, competing in the women’s category, delivered a significant performance by finishing 5th in the 55 kg category.
İsmail Culfa, who achieved great success by winning a gold medal at the championship, has earned the right to be selected for the national team to represent our country at the World University Championships to be held in Brazil in June.
